The Rapids are a force to be reckoned, with an international roster, featuring players from Jamaica, England, Africa, Japan and Argentina, not to mention plenty of homegrown talent. COLORADO MAMMOTH

Lacrosse may not be as popular a professional sport as those mentioned above - not yet at least. Thanks to the Colorado Mammoth, lacrosse is gaining a fervent following in The Mile High City. The team is part of the growing National Lacrosse League and plays home games at the Ball Arena, where they often attract crowds rivaling those of the Nuggets and Avalanche. DENVER OUTLAWS

Even more Major Leagues lacrosse thrills can be found at Mile High Stadium, where the Denver Outlaws take on all comers May through August. The team is young, hungry, and provides a great introduction to this exciting sport. See the team's schedule.

DENVER NUGGETS

The NBA's Denver Nuggets rule the court at the Ball Arena in downtown Denver. With a roster that includes big-name veterans and exciting up-and-comers, the Nuggets are truly one of The Mile High City's most exciting teams, year after year. The season runs from October to June. DENVER BARBARIANS

Rugby is a sport more often identified with the United Kingdom, but Denver has had a pro ("super league") rugby club for more than 40 years. The Denver Barbarians (known as the Barbos) competes against 15 other club teams from all over the United States, the highest level of competitive rugby play in the country. COORS FIELD

"Behind the Seams" tours of Coors Field are available Monday through Saturday during the season and then Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday during the offseason and provide a behind-the-scenes look at one of the premier ballparks in Major League Baseball. All tours begin at Gate D (20th & Blake Street). Tours last 75-80 minutes and cover a distance of approximately one mile. All tours are accessible for guests with disabilities. Also, don't miss the Sandlot, a brewery in Coors Field that is open year-round.

COLORADO SPORTS HALL OF FAME

Come see the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, a free museum honoring Colorado sports legends. Open most Thurs.-Sat. from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Also visit Mile High Stadium. Tours begin each half hour and are 75 minutes in length. This is your chance to see the 'back of the house" where the Broncos play. Adults $20, children and seniors $15, and groups $10.
